Ämnet handlar om bild, konst, arkitektur och design. Tidigare användes begreppet konsthistoria, men dagens beteckning, konst- och bildvetenskap, markerar att studierna omfattar visuella gestaltningars betydelse för såväl samtida som historiska individer och samhällen, samt intresserar sig för ett brett fält av visuell kultur.Vill du arbeta professionellt med konst på konsthallar, museer, kommuner, landsting, i konstprojektoch pedagogiska sammanhang? Konst- och bildvetenskap ger dig den kompetensen!De olika delkurserna inom Konst- och bildvetenskap I, 30 hp, innehåller:Delkurs 1. Konst- och bildvetenskaplig introduktion, 7,5 hpDelkursen innehåller en orientering i konst- och bildvetenskapens historia, introduktion till konst- och bildvetenskapliga teorier och metoder, samt övningar i bildanalys och bildtolkning.Delkurs 2. Tidiga bild- och byggnadskulturer, 7,5 hpDelkursen innehåller identifiering av visuella spår och fragment av förhistoriska bild- och byggnadskulturer samt studier av de stora världskulturernas och religionernas uttryck i bild, arkitektur och gestaltad miljö under forntid till och med medeltiden.Delkurs 3. Från renässans till romantik och realism, 7,5 hpDelkursen innehåller studier av västerländska bild- och byggnadskulturer mot bakgrund av politiska och sociala förändringar samt globala influenser under 1400-talet till och med 1800-talet. Vidare fokuseras design som framväxande företeelse, den massmediala bildens utbredning, de nya grafiska teknikernas betydelse och nya offentliga institutioners arkitektoniska utformning samt diskuteras visuella och arkitektoniska gestaltningar ur makt-, klass- genus- och etnicitetsperspektiv.Delkurs 4. Modernism, postmodernism och samtidskonst, 7,5 hp Delkursen omfattar studier av bild, konst, arkitektur och design från 1900- och 2000-talet utifrån begreppen modernitet, modernism, postmodernism och globalisering. Nya mediers användning inom konst och visuell kultur under 1900- och 2000-talet fokuseras, liksom utomeuropeiska kulturers inflytande på västerländsk kultur. Vidare diskuteras hur visuella och arkitektoniska gestaltningar från1900- och 2000-talet avspeglar makt, klass, genus och etnicitet.The course comprises four modules.Module 1 Introduction to Art History and Visual Studies, 7.5 ECTS crThe module introduces the history of art and visual studies, the theories and methods of the field and exercises in visual analysis and interpretation. Module 2 Early Visual and Architectural Cultures, 7.5 ECTS crThe module identifies visual remnants and fragments of prehistoric visual and architectural cultures and studies of the expressions of the major world cultures and religions as manifested in visual art, architecture and the built environment in the prehistoric to the medieval period.Module 3 From the Renaissance to Romanticism and Realism, 7.5 ECTS crThe module centres on Western visual and architectural cultures against the background of political and social changes and global influences in the15-19th centuries. In addition, the emerging design phenomenon is studied along with the prevalence of mass media images, the importance of the new graphic technology and the architectural design of new public institutions, and discussions of visual and architectural styles from a power, class, gender and ethnicity perspective. Module 4 Modernism, Postmodernism and Contemporary Art, 7.5 ECTS crThe module comprises studies of visual art, architecture and design in the 20-21st centuries in terms of the concepts of modernity, modernism, postmodernism and globalisation.
