Därvid beaktas de rumsliga processernas betydelse för att förstå samhällsplaneringen i olika kulturer, skillnader mellan stad och land samt grundläggande förutsättningar vad gäller demografi, mobilitet, människors försörjningsmöjligheter och relationen familjeliv och arbetsliv och dess påverkan på byggnation och infrastruktur. Det moderna välfärdssamhällets framväxt, liksom historiska perspektiv vad gäller familjeliv och arbetsliv och olika kontexter kring samhälle diskuteras i kursen. Genus- och mångfaldsperspektiv integreras för förståelsen av det moderna välfärdssamhället och dess utveckling.Kursen innehåller följande moment:- Det moderna samhällets historiska geografi- Samhällsplaneringens idéhistoria och aktuella perspektiv- Individ och samhälle i relation till samhällsplaneringens idéhistoriaUndervisning på kursen bedrivs i form av föreläsningar, laborationer, exkursioner och seminarier. The course provides perspectives on the conceptual history of spatial and social planning in terms of concepts theories and methods from a human geography perspective. Spatial processes and their impact on social planning in different cultures and sociogeographical contexts are treated along with the basic premises of demography, mobility, sustenance, and the relationship family-work and its impact on construction and infrastructure. The emergence of the welfare society as a result of a long political process is discussed along with historical perspectives on the family-work relationship and on various societal contexts. Gender and diversity perspectives are integrated in the understanding of the modern welfare society and its development.
